Indexing
Cameron did an expert job on the index for my book. The book required one general and two specialty indexes, all of which Cameron completed on time and with great skill. I was especially impressed with Cameron’s facility in anticipating indexed entries; he obviously took pains to read carefully through the manuscript in preparation for this job. Throughout the process Cameron was patient and professional, and good-humored as well. I plan to hire him again for my next book.

Dissertation and Thesis Editing
Cameron is a degree saver! I am happy to give very positive feedback on Cameron’s editing services. I contacted Cameron for editing of my thesis prior to my defence. He was very helpful and professional. I found him to be a patient and calm person, yet very prompt in responding to my editing issues. Should I go for my PhD, I will definitely come back to Cameron, and I recommend him to anyone doing a graduate project.

I cannot recommend Cameron highly enough. He was prompt, professional, and the quality of his work is outstanding. At every turn he exceeded my expectations. For anyone who is working on a thesis, Cameron will save you weeks of work and re-work. My thesis was accepted on first submission at FOGS both at the draft stage and at the final stage. That kind of perfection is unheard of. In addition, Cameron’s experience as a general editor will also improve your writing and clarity at the same time that he is formatting your thesis. Best money I ever spent.

Having worked on my thesis since entering my graduate program, it meant everything to me to present the final product of my advance education in the best way possible. Even though I found the writing part of the thesis a manageable challenge, the formatting and proofreading of the thesis were the areas that were beyond my expertise and needed a professional review. Thus, close to the end of the writing process, I set on a journey to find a reliable source to proofread and format my thesis without sacrificing the content of my work. After an initial phone conversation with Cameron, I quickly realized the value of his service. He was professional, knowledgeable, informative, patient, and obedient of the university’s rules and regulations throughout the process. Cameron’s contribution made my journey more knowledgeable, comfortable, enjoyable and worthy of taking. Thank You Cameron!

After 2 years of hard work and several drafts I was sure that this time the dissertation would be ready to submit! When I met with my supervisors and they highlighted the work yet to be done, I realized there was nothing left in my poor little brain and was ready to settle for a post grad dip! Fortunately my supervisors realized my state of mind and suggested enlisting Cameron to proofread and edit my work. When I contacted Cameron I realized he was an expert but also able to meet me on my level. I had been rescued and I certainly needed it!
Cameron was prompt and professional in his work on my dissertation. He was obviously totally academically competent. As well as thoroughly editing my work (no mean feat) he was able to advise me on University processes and procedures and maintained a high level of integrity and ethical standard. Whilst being professional I really appreciated the friendly and relaxed way Cameron communicated with me. He was readily available to discuss issues.
I highly recommend Cameron to anyone who is completing a thesis or is in need of sound professional assistance with their study. I will be eternally grateful to Cameron for saving the day!

You are more than a formatting wizard, you are patient and calm, but also quick. You don’t forget that this is not about you, but about the poor demented graduate student who is sleep deprived, hungry and currently has no friends, or a life. You don’t have ego problems. I really appreciate your astuteness, the way you explain everything but also recognize you are dealing with a graduate student, a potential scholar so chances are she or he will be able to grasp formatting directions or explanations in one telling! You don’t patronize your clients in any way at all. In fact, your patience and agility amazed me. Thank you so much!! I will gladly come back to you again, and recommend you to everyone I know who has any intention of taking on a graduate project in the future! I think you are a Dissertation Trauma Counsellor, like the dai in Bangladesh or the dola elsewhere who helps ease childbirth in a peaceful yet productive way!!! It has been wonderful to have had you with me on this very traumatic last push!!

Words that describe Cameron’s work as an editor include: prompt, thorough, highly professional and of high quality. I could not fault Cameron’s editing of my PhD and I gained a great sense of confidence from him regarding my work. Cameron gave me accurate feedback that helped me to learn the habits I had formed in my writing. He communicated clearly and efficiently with me throughout the editing process. Cameron’s editing work helped me to feel comfortable with the final thesis product and I highly recommend him as an editor.

A lifesaver! As I was passing the six-month mark of working on my final MA paper, words seemed to merge together, grammatical and formatting errors were blending in and concealing them! I had never considered an editor until my cousin informed me that many people completing a MA or PHD get an editor to review their work before submitting. I found Cameron online and he was extremely helpful from the moment I contacted him. He was prompt, highly qualified, extremely professional and great to work with. Cameron eased a lot of stress the weeks prior to my final submission and I would definitely recommend him.

It is with pleasure that I offer my testimonial for Cameron’s editing service. I contracted his services at the end of 2008 to complete a final edit of my doctoral thesis prior to submission. From the very beginning he was professional in his approach and thorough in his editing services. Cameron also provided clear commentary in relation to the editing that was performed so I could follow his advice correctly, but also understand if it made any contextual changes to my discussion (which of course is what we don’t want to happen!). In the end, the most important thing was that I could trust his editing advice and in that light I had no reservations regarding the submission of my thesis in early 2009.

Archival Processing & Intellectual Arrangement (Rikki Swin Collection & Reed Erickson fonds, University of Victoria Archives: http://transgenderarchives.uvic.ca/)
University of Victoria Archives hired Cameron on contract to undertake the initial physical processing and intellectual arrangement of a large archival donation, which consisted of personal records and publications in a variety of media. Cameron applied his historical knowledge and organizational skills to the complex task, laying the groundwork for the provision of access to this important material. His attention to detail and clear communication style ensured a high quality result.

Moodle Course Management System Construction (2010)
Cameron Duder set up a Moodle site for Capilano University’s History department, of which he was a member at the time. He designed this site to be a resource for all of us, including a lot of our own materials such as overheads and short articles as well as some of his own. The site is incredibly useful – I can go into class and instantly pull up maps and illustrations to show my students. No shuffling piles of overheads, no worries about losing or forgetting crucial pieces. I am not a “techie” and Cameron also spent some time with me to show me how to use the technology to advantage – again, really useful as he was able to make it all seem quite simple – as indeed it is, in the end.
